Until recently, there just wasn't much to say here. I spent a little over ten years at Oracle Corporation. During that time I did several jobs, but spent almost seven years working in the Interactive Television Division, trying to make video on demand and interactive television a reality. Unfortunately, my patience ran out before we succeeded, and September 1st, 2000 was my last day at Oracle. .

After I left, Oracle turned out evil. They basically sold OVS to another company, but did it in a highly dubious manner that screwed a lot of good, talented employees. Most of these people were awesome people who landed on their feet elsewhere, but it certainly left a sour taste in my mouth. Anyone considering going to work for Oracle, who stumbles upon this, feel free to drop me a note if you want more details...

So enough of that. As of September 18th, 2000, I'll be working at a startup called Generic Media. At the time I make this link, it is incredibly uninteresting, but I imagine that will change at some point. I could tell you what we do, but I'd have to kill you. I am employee #12 at GM, so it should be quite a change of pace from Oracle. If nothing else, I'll miss the sweet office that I had at Oracle. When I knew I was leaving, I knew I'd miss my office, so I took a bunch of pictures of it for posterity. You can see them here.
